I think this twist is brilliant…I rewatched the premiere tonight and I just am stunned at how beautiful this show is to look at!
I found this “what if” twist to be obvious. When looking to retell an old story with a different angle, one of the first things you do is look at protagonists and antagonists and “flip their scripts” so to speak. Basic stuff. I was more impressed with the new take on Renfield. Not just because he’s a black guy, but because he’s now an intelligent, observant and sane body guard type. That was clever, IMO.
